In a very short span of time, the members of The Silver Thread Trio have made a big name for themselves as performers of their own unique style of folk-influenced, grassroots music.

Although all three members, Caroline Isaacs, Gabrielle Pietrangelo, and Laura Kepner-Adney write their own songs, they are unafraid to draw music and inspiration from the creative river of folk, blues, and even classical music that has come before them.

The band is currently celebrating the release of their second album, called Trigger & Scythe, the creation of which was made possible thanks to the support their fans showed them via the website KickStart.

Mark McLemore asked two members of The Silver Thread Trio, Gabrielle and Caroline, to join him in the studio to talk about the new album. He started the interview by asking them if any specific images came to mind when people refer to their art as "Americana"...

The Silver Thread Trio is holding a CD release party for Trigger & Scythe that will also feature special guests Loveland. It's happening on Saturday, January 28th at Plush, located on the Southwest corner of 4th Avenue and 6th Street in Tucson, Arizona.
