A former leader of a Tucson fraternity has been sentenced to five years in prison for stealing over a half million dollars from the organization. Michael Woolbright served as President of the Alumni Board of Delta Chi in Tucson.
The fraternity has a house on the University of Arizona campus.
He was prosecuted on charges he wrote unauthorized checks to himself and his businesses totaling over $500,000, after forcing out the group’s accountant.
A court handed down 30 years of probation on top of the five year sentence, and ordered Woolbright to pay 520-thousand dollars in restitution.
