Special Budget Session House Bill 2003

March 9, 2010 | AZPM

Special Budget Session House Bill 2003 deals with federal money and state employee pay. The proposal requires annual reports on how much money each state agency has received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act as well as how the money was spent and how that money was used to offset state budget reductions.

Additionally, Special Session HB 2003 deals with state employee pay. It reduces state employee pay by 2.75% and requires one furlough day during the current fiscal year, six during fiscal 2010-0211 and six during fiscal 2011-2012. The pay cuts do not apply to university employees while stimulus dollars are being used for federally required maintenance of effort.
