In March, the median price for a home in Tucson was $172,000.
The last time it was that high was February of 2009, as prices were falling.
Tucson's residential real estate market was midway between the high point and low point the market hit after the residential real estate market bubble burst.
The last time the median price was this high and prices were climbing was October 2009.
But this time, the prices are growing at a slower, more sustainable rate.
“That’s what we’ve been talking about most of the year, our continued growth in the Tucson housing market, and the fact that it’s steady and that we see it finishing somewhat strong going into the rest of the year,” said Henry Zipf, president of the Tucson Association of Realtor's Multiple Listing Service.
Other major indicators, including number of sales, total sales volume, and average price are also showing year-over-year growth.
