Survival Training

Learn what pilots and ground crew gain from testing their limits during survival training at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

Listen to the radio adaptation of this story as heard on Arizona Spotlight:

Pilots and crew are constantly training at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Part of that training includes an ongoing program called SERE, or Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape.

Those who are at high-risk for isolation or capture must maintain their SERE certification, intended to help them return home with “honor and in good health.”
