30 Zika Cases Reported in Arizona Since Outbreak Began

More than a third of all cases reported in state came in last month.

August was the busiest month yet for new cases of Zika virus in the state, according to data from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

There were 12 confirmed cases and one suspected case reported to the department last month. Thirty Zika infections have been reported so far in 2016.

Monsoon-season mosquitos do not have anything to do with the virus' spread in the state.

There has not yet been a case of Zika being passed from person-to-person in Arizona. All cases so far have been contracted by people who have traveled outside the country.
