State Legislative Leaders: Education Is Top Priority

Also, a conversation with state Treasurer Jeff DeWit on the economy.

A new year means a new legislative session, and Arizona lawmakers are setting out their agendas for 2017.

This time around, there are many new faces in the state Capitol, with freshman lawmakers constituting nearly a third of the members. Republicans hold the majority in both the House and senate, but Democrats also say they are working to have a place at the table.

Arizona Week sits down with lawmakers and experts to discuss what can be expected in the coming year.

State Treasurer Jeff DeWit also joins us this week to talk about the Arizona economy. DeWit made headlines in 2016 when he was appointed chief operating officer for Donald Trump’s campaign.

On next week’s show, we’ll sit down with Gov. Doug Ducey regarding the opening of the 52nd legislative session and the year ahead.

On the program
