Featured on the January 26th, 2023 edition of ARIZONA SPOTLIGHT with host Mark McLemore:
- This weekend, True Concord Voices and Orchestra is premiering a work from composer Jocelyn Hagen,“Here I Am”. It is a multi-media project featuring the words and portraits of 47 different women from history, demonstrating the importance and power of finding your voice. Mark talks with composer Jocelyn Hagen and True Concord’s managing director Welz Kauffman.

- Meet Chanel Bragg. She is making her directorial debut this month with the Arizona Theatre Company production of “The Glass Menagerie”. Bragg talks with Arizona Spotlight assistant producer Leah Britton, and shares her perspective on why this classic play’s familial themes are open to reinvention and diversity.


- And, listen to music from Silently Loud, an album of songs featuring lyrics written by non-speaking artists, including two young adults from Tucson’s autism community. Mark talks with musician, poet Brian Laidlaw, the co-founder of Unrestricted Interest, a group that offers poetry and songwriting mentorships to autistic writers. Local autism advocate Amy Burnham Greiner is mom to Joshua, a 21-year old non-speaking adult. She is also the executive director of the non-profit TEVA Community. There will be a free live performance of “Silently Loud” - with two of the non-speaking poets participating in a Q&A - at The UA Poetry Center on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 2 pm.
