A migrant died last month in a remote part of the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona after officials found her suffering from severe heat stroke.
Border Patrol’s rescue unit responded to a 911 call on July 11 and found a woman from Colombia in a remote area near Three Points who was conscious but lethargic and vomiting.
A Friday press release said agents started treatment for severe heat stroke and called for emergency medical services.
The woman was taken by air ambulance to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, where she was pronounced dead early the next morning from cardiac arrest.
The Pima County Medical Examiner has processed 103 sets of human remains this year of migrants who died crossing the border. More than a third of those were found in July.
