The Pima County Community College District Governing Board has approved a $3 per-credit-hour tuition hike, effective for the upcoming fall semester. Pima Community College's tuition for in-state students will now be at $100.50 per credit hour.
Additionally, PCC will streamline charges, including per-credit-hour service fees, into its tuition rate in order to simplify the cost of attendance. Students undertaking a full 30-credit course load throughout the academic year can anticipate spending $3,015 for the year starting this fall.
"The increased revenue will provide support for the College’s programs and services and allow the College to give pay raises to employees," a press release said. "The budget plan also includes the gradual reduction of its workforce through employee attrition to better align the College’s costs with its enrollment."
The new rates, which will begin on August 26, are:
- $100.50 for in-state residents
- $322 for in-person non-residents taking fall/spring courses
- $251 for in-person non-residents taking summer courses
- $232 for online non-residents
