A jaguar projected on the border wall is part of a dynamic wildlife-themed installation by Lauren Strohacker.
Lauren Strohacker
Artist Lauren Strohacker is creating a large-format projection of multiple species that roam the borderlands, with an emphasis on jaguars. She talked about the meaning of her work.
“It's kind of this reminder of what we stand to lose if we don't make considerations for kind of a multi species way of life. And in this particular one, the inspiration is of course, the borderlands and the wildlife that is blocked by the border wall.”
The panel beforehand will include a public discussion with conservationists from Conservation CATalyst, Wildlands Network, and Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center.
When: Saturday, May 11, 5 to 9 p.m. Where: Wittner Museum, 204 N. Morley Ave., Nogales, AZ 85621 Cost: Free and open to the public; donations accepted
