- A conversation with Misty Proffitt-Thompson, author of From Grief to Acceptance: An Active Process for Healing While Honoring Our Loved Ones. It tells how she restored her own spiritual belief system after years of depression following her younger sister’s murder. Proffitt-Thompson will be giving two talks - and signing books - next week in Tucson. On Thursday, September 5th she will be at the Barnes & Noble in the Foothills Mall. On Friday, September 6th, she will be at the Barnes & Noble on East Broadway. Both events are from 6 – 8 pm.

- From Native American heavy metal to an emo rap, Matt Baquet of Hotel Congress plays music for Andrew Brown to preview some of the 100 musicians and bands who will be taking part in the 2019 HOCO Fest, August 29 - September 21st in downtown Tucson.

- And, Wendy Garcia grew up in Alamos, Sonora, cooking her family’s traditional meat-based Mexican recipes. After moving to Tucson when she was 17, Garcia decided to start her own business selling vegan tamales at farmers' markets. We’ll hear how that grew into Tumerico, a nationally recognized restaurant in the heart of Tucson.
